If you love outdoor adventures, consider a leisurely drive to the dunes for some sand dune surfing, also known as sandboarding.
Sand dune surfing is a blend of snowboarding, surfing, and skateboarding. But instead of snow, water or asphalt, you are sandboarding down or across the dunes.

Do you have to have snowboarding or sandboarding experience?
No experience is needed. Training is offered. Most people get the hang of it within 15 minutes. This activity can be enjoyed by novices or naturals.
How do you get to the top of the dunes?
Your trainer will meet you in the parking lot and drive you (in a 4×4) to the top of the dunes.
Can kids go sandboarding?
Yes. Sand dune surfing is available for almost all ages. It usually starts from 5 years and older, but that will depend on the provider you choose.
What do I need to go sand dune surfing?
All you need is some sunscreen and a positive attitude. Basic instructions will be provided. Most providers will provide sand surfing boards and a ride to the top of the dune.
What do you wear to go sandboard surfing?
No special clothing is required. You can go sandboarding with bare feet if it’s not too hot, otherwise your feet my burn on the sand. You can also wear barefoot shoes or socks.
How do I book a sandboarding adventure?
How you book will depend on what part of the country you are in. However, regardless of where you go, adventurers are asked to use certified specialists. By choosing to go with a professional, you are not potentially damaging the area through improper 4×4 or quadbike usage.
